Coastal Holiday

Lovelace Interiors

By Julie Liebetreu

Earlier this month, I was featured in On the Coast Magazine for coastal holiday decor. Holidays on the coast can be one of the most beautiful times of the year. Often the unexpected is the most wonderful way to create that coastal element of design. Bringing nature in during the holidays is a great way to create a warm, coastal holiday home.

A simple sand dollar hung with a ribbon pinned to the back of a hostess chair is a great way to give that coastal touch.

Mercury glass and burlap are wonderful elements to complement to coastal holiday décor.

The possibilities are endless.  Find your inspiration from the beautiful area we live in.  Why not decorate for the holidays to match our lifestyle?

Coastal Decorating Must Haves:

1 – – You can never have enough wire ribbon and it can be used year after year.

Wire ribbon can make even the novice decorator look professional.

2 – – Burlap, Mercury Glass, Natural Coral, Driftwood, and Candles.

3 – – Battery Candles with timers can be placed everywhere.

4 – – Nest Holiday Classic Candle and Scented Reeds, available at

Market Finds and Trends

Lovelace Interiors
By Lindsay Miller
Fall Market in HighPoint, North Carolina was a success! Susan Lovelace, Bunny Hall, and I worked for 3 days straight to find the newest and greatest merchandise for the showroom. From black and white pops to bold navy and golds, color was a huge trend throughout the show. Here are a few groups that really stood out, and that will be arriving to the store in the following months.
Vanguard Furniture: Mix and Match Dining
We just love the idea of mixing and matching when it comes to dining groups. A table with 4 matching chairs is just okay, while a dining bench with upholstered side chairs add that wow factor. Mix that with a leather or vinyl wrapped glass-top table, and you have a very custom and designer look.
Ambella Home: Curved Contemporary
We ordered this sectional as a different take on updated Mid-Century Modern. The tufted seat and curved center piece stand out, and look great floating in a room. The tufted ottoman is done in a scored leather with acrylic legs. Acrylic was HUGE this market. Though it’s known to have a more modern look, accents of acrylic are a cool way to bring a touch of contemporary into any design style.
Vanguard Furniture: Flanking SofasWe also love the look of flanking sofas. In a large living space, it’s so nice to have 2 sofas, so the men in your life don’t fight about the “good seat” during football Saturdays. These two sofas are very different, yet their lines, colors, and styles work together: Skirted vs. legs, slipcovered vs. fully upholstered, tufted vs. plain. Note the acrylic ottoman leg again.
Be sure and stop by the showroom to see our new market finds arriving daily!

Fashion Comes Home

Lovelace Interiors

By Bunny Hall

A symbolic relationship and they go hand in hand, fashion and home design. This Fall’s runway fashions are very much in sync with trends happening for the home.

There are many new trends in prints: different looks in animals prints in bright vibrant colors, in teal, acid greens, and true blues; but not forgetting the basic of grey and black, cheetah, leopard, embossed leathers, and many metallic skins.

We will see trends repeat themselves in bold floral prints that pop into both worlds of Fashion and Interior Design. From small to large, designers that walk hand in hand: J. Crew and Brunschwig & Fils in floral prints and geometric. Diane Von Fustenberg brings florals and animal prints, and she brings it home with her Cumulus Sunset pattern, for Kravet fabrics.

Escada, in a retro look in a stunning purple hyacinth print, Osborne & Little shows some dramatic color from Matthew Williamson for Osborne & Little. Kate Spade shows her new look of “cyber” cheetah, with Kelly Wearstler’s strikingly similar print in wall covering.

For a while now, many designers have bridged the fashion world and Interior Design. To name a few: Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Charlotte Moss,  Nanette Lepore, and Fendi extended their world to opulence in lighting. So step out of the box and move your living space to a high fashion look for 2015.
